Saturday morning we went out to Reds pier and was there pretty much all day. First thing in the morning I caught a 10lb bat ray tossed it back caught some live bait then caught some small rock cod and the big action was on my smaller setup that whatever took it broke off first it bit the line right above the hook then second time it snapped off the leader after fightin with it for at least 10min. Day was alright....

Sunday we went out to Baker Beach for some perch, I gotta say it was a nice day for once out there with the sun and a ton of people. We caught 10 perch and 15 jack smelts this was just in a 4hr window. We caught everything off shrimps

i went fishing in the sf bay yesterday too.. caught a couple leopard sharks.. then i saw it........

birds diving into the water... and... stripers breaching the surface... i quickly put all my stuff away into my car except my pole, small bag, and a hair raiser and waited.. the ball started moving south so i followed them along the shoreline. they came closer and closer, but not close enough to cast. By then, a few other fishermen tied on hair raisers and we were all following the bait ball. but it never came close enough. a few guys were casting out their hair raisers any way, but no luck. the feeding frenzy lasted for 45 minutes. still had fun praying they'd come closer .

Went out again.. Got there at slack high tide... And sure enough it happened again about an hour later.. Birds and baitball with breeching stripers.. They came closer than yesterday.. Close enough for me to start throwing the hair raiser but still too far.. Im going to tie on a mickey jig tonight..

On a side note, i caught a 44 inch leopard tonight-- biggest leopard i've caught.. Noticed that fish were feeling my 3 oz sinker on surf rig and gettin spooked so i switched to carolina 1 oz and caught the leopard.. He fought me pretty good, and when i landed him and saw how big he was, i was surprised he didnt straighten out my size 2 bait hook. Hooked him perfectly on corner of the mouth... Quickly measured him and got him back in the water

Ive got a part of a video with the fish on but i dont wanna post it we stopped recording because the fish wasnt pulling it was just stayin toward the bottom. Im tryin to get more vids, I even put a gopro in my crab net but half way down it got pitch black and all you heard were crabs crawlin on the bait cage
