Went fishing with a few friends in SF Bay. We fished from 730am to 730pm. It was cold and windy as hell. Stupid me, I went out in shorts and a sleeveless shirt thinking it would be a warm day. I managed to catch a limit of bass (21" and 25") but by 1pm, I got blown off the pier and decided to go sleep in my car. My friends woke me up around 7pm, and asked if I was ever coming back to fish. I decided to head back and start packing up to go home. I baited up my two rods while I was getting my stuff together. A few minutes later, I see the classic halibut bite. I gave the fish a little slack, and noticed that it had swam back towards the pier, as I had casted about 12 feet out but it was now sitting by my friend's line, straight down from the pier. I lifted the rod tip slightly and felt the weight of the fish, and set the hook. About 10 minutes later, the 28" halibut hits the deck. The day produced around 20 striped bass for us, ranging from 16"-25". All but two were released.
