 Re: Santa Cruz Wharf 10.23.11
Im not going to try and irritate them Im just tryin to drop a crab net for a few hrs and maybe a fishing line. If them get irritated then so be it I wount be pulling a knife I got something better. So how long does the rope to be to hit the bottom? 100ft? total?

 Re: Santa Cruz Wharf 10.23.11
the crabs can be, but not necessarily, at depths of a 100 feet at that pier.. to answer your question.. u should be fine with 150 feet, counting the height of the pier (pretty high), with some extra...

 Re: Santa Cruz Wharf 10.23.11
Snares is the way to go...but crab nets can often be fun as well..but if there are big swells, nets are the waiste of time...100-150ft by the way..make sure no rope is super slack... throw BETWEEN the pillars or else i will wait till you leave and peir gaff it up and i go home with a new net...hah! just kidden...if im there i usually try to help if i see someone gets stuck..

 Re: Santa Cruz Wharf 10.23.11
cool man.. should be a good one.
some tips for anyone else:
- if you don't have a crab snare, you can usually buy one from one of the locals for 5-10 bucks. and to be honest, theirs are better than the store bought ones
- spool your setup with visible line..
