Im not going to try and irritate them Im just tryin to drop a crab net for a few hrs and maybe a fishing line. If them get irritated then so be it I wount be pulling a knife I got something better.

So how long does the rope to be to hit the bottom? 100ft? total?

the crabs can be, but not necessarily, at depths of a 100 feet at that pier.. to answer your question.. u should be fine with 150 feet, counting the height of the pier (pretty high), with some extra...

Snares is the way to go...but crab nets can often be fun as well..but if there are big swells, nets are the waiste of time...100-150ft by the way..make sure no rope is super slack... throw BETWEEN the pillars or else i will wait till you leave and peir gaff it up and i go home with a new net...hah! just kidden...if im there i usually try to help if i see someone gets stuck..

cool man.. should be a good one.

some tips for anyone else:

- if you don't have a crab snare, you can usually buy one from one of the locals for 5-10 bucks. and to be honest, theirs are better than the store bought ones

- spool your setup with visible line..
