My girlfriend and I hit up the santa cruz wharf for the first time yesterday. Got there just before 8am. Went to the bait shop near the end of the pier and bought two Sabiki rigs and some frozen squid. Nothing touched the squid all day but I was able to catch 12 mackerel all around 8"-10" and she caught two more plus a small sand dab (I think), all on the sabiki rigs. We had a great time, threw everything we caught back. We have yet to catch anything decent sized yet, but at this point we are happy just reeling in anything!
