Re: San Jose Bass DELTA Trip 2010 - Oct 2nd
That would be tight if you could go duder. You know what, I was concerned about the weather too but when I caught that fish a few weeks ago (and missed others of nice size) it was directly after a hot week. It was cold during the night and the bite slowed as it got warmer in the day, but dude, they were there and no onnnneee was plugging for stripers in the area I was fishing. I learned something from that fish. The stripers are active in the Delta way earlier than I thought. Bobby Barrack did also say, you can catch some biggies starting in August. He was right. My fingers are crossed

Re: San Jose Bass DELTA Trip 2010 - Oct 2nd
No problem man! I am stoked I was able to lead you in the right direction for that morning bite. Too bad that biggie got away, but I think Sam was able to land it this morning A great trip indeed. Nice to meet you and TritonBassRipper. Report for me is, THEY ARE IN FRANKS. Got a lot of followers of good size, caught a few 5-7's, a bunch of little guys and Sam unbuttoned a toad right after we saw you guys leave in the very late evening. Got into a good largie bite with sweet beavers late in the day saturday. This morning, a 5 and some small guys, then Sam landed the one above. Home before dinner. Thanks to EuroJett for the lures. Didn't get to try them out this time but the other boats may have. Great looking lures.

Re: San Jose Bass DELTA Trip 2010 - Oct 2nd
It was actually my Pops and my buddy Sam. Marce had some shore fishing to do at Uvas so he couldn't make it out to the Delta. Next trip coming soon.

nice fish guys!
Tap, I think that is a squawfish. they are good striper bait when they are smaller.

Re: San Jose Bass DELTA Trip 2010 - Oct 2nd
Tis a squaw fish. gross fish man. I hate touching them...kinda like carp. I can't stand those things. Scare me.
They also have a pike native to the Delta out there. There is a school that lives by our boat and the locals feed them with cat food. They are big too, up to 8 or 9 pounds. We tried to get them to eat our lures for some fun one blurry night but they just like the cat food. I was going to put a piece of beef jerky on the end of my hook to try and catch one but I forgot about the idea as fast as I thought of it.
