Tides are looking ok for Franks Tract for the morning bite that weekend. High Tide at 1:30pm at the False river so we'll be fishing the start of the incoming in the morning right after 7:00am.

This Striper Fest sounds like fun....any good fishing spots by the campground? I don't have a boat.

My Dad found a spot that allows you to get to the Taylor Slough opening on the False River. Just a short drive away from Bethel Island. He was there this past weekend and was catching stripers up to 17 inches. I am sure that the size will improve in October in that area.

Tides will be great for a morning bite there and I am sure you will be able to get them on lures there as well as bait.

BTW, I have a 12' Aluminum Sea King with a trailer that I am going to put up for sale as soon as I transfer the title to my name. Has a 30 lbs minn kota trolling motor with a battery, life vest, swivel seat, anchor and some oars. I bought it for fishing the bay but it's too small for that big of water. Just an FYI to all those going out. Thinking I would sell to an SJBer for 500 bucks, whole package.

to rent a bass boat with a trolling motor is $190.00 for 8 hours. thats not too bad split three ways

Nice. Did you go out today? Which part did you fish at? I was in the Big Break Area today. Morning I saw the stripers were boiling but nothing over 18inch. I caught few small one and missed a good size striper on lunker punker. The bite only last from 6:30am to 7:30am so I switched to bass. I think I made the right choice, overcast this morning was great to catch LMB on top water. I caught over 15 bass today on top water, nothing over 2lb but still fun for me.

Marone, nice catch brother. I wish I could have joined you guys but I was stuck at the J-O-B.
