Post Perch fishing?
I have been thinking about heading out to the beach for some perch fishing soon... Anyone have any reports on the action? and where they are at?

not sure where you heard this but this isn't true. per DFG http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/mapregs5.a ... perch_open

The recreational fishery for surfperch (family Embiotocidae) is open year-round. The daily bag and possession limit is 20 fish in combination of all species (except shiner perch), with not more than 10 fish of any one species. Shiner perch (Cymatogaster aggregata) have a separate bag and possession limit of 20 fish. Redtail surfperch (Amphistichus rhodoterus) have a minimum size limit of 10 1/2 inches total length.

since Barred Surf Perch isn't listed to have a size limit, you can keep any size. Just don't exceed 10 catches in a day.

Yeah, norcalkats on it.

That aggregate bag limit AcuraAngler quotes is only for waters outside SF bay. Inside SF bay, the aggregate bag limit is 5 fish, all species combined. The minimum size limit for redtails, anywhere, is 10 1/2". Inside SF bay, the recreational closure begins April 1st and ends July 31st. Shiners have a seperate bag limit of 20 fish and are exempt from the recreational closure.
