 Re: Oyster Point?????
Not sure I would fish there (C&R for sure) pollution levels in the area are literally causing dying leopards washing up to the shoreline. Was planning on going there in a couple of weeks (a good friend lives about 10 minuets from there) for some shark/ray but haven't heard of any positive reports.

 Re: Oyster Point?????
Thanks man. That would be horrible to end up with something polluted.
So whereabouts closest to the south bay are good spots for crab and fish. I've been hitting the jetty in Half Moon Bay, but climbing to the end of that thing is getting a little old. Aside from that, it'd be nice to venture out and explore some new spots.
I've been to Pacifica pier, but I'm not really about being shoulder to shoulder with people trying to fish.
All advice is a appreciated.

Buy some snares and hit up Baker Beach (SF side, outside of the gate). Snaring for crabs is more effective than hooping anyway. If you do crab inside the bay, remember there is no take of dungeness.

Yeah, it's near Ft. Baker. Just look up Baker Beach, SF on google maps.

Right on tuna. I can't thank you enough man.
So is it always better to be out when the tides are up? I'm still learning about the saltwater fishing. Well I'm always learning something new about all fishing, but Since I really like eating what I get form the salt I'd like to educate myself there a little faster.

 Re: Oyster Point?????
My self and two buddies were there last weekend, no bites but my friend hooked on what we believed to be a shark because that thing took like like nothing. Fought it for like 10 mins until the line got caught around rocks and ended up snapping the 50lb mono leader. Anyone know any good spots for shore stripped bass or bay fishing?
Thanks Sam

 Re: Oyster Point?????
Thanks for the report Sam.
I fear that the Leopards washing up on shore were due to the amount of fresh rain water flowing into the bay. Hopefully it doesn't continue with the snow melting and this recent rain this week.
Start paying attention to the south bay now that they've opened it back up and let the tides flow in.
Good luck out there.
