Where do you guys enter these lakes? Do you walk along blossom hill road and enter there? Or is there another entrance where you can get in without walking on blossom hill with all your fishing gear. also, where do you park?

I went once and hopped the fence but wanted to know if there's another entrance.

Here's a map for reference, just follow the black line down and around Blossom River Dr. Park on the street in back of the apartments:

There is a hole in the fence in the corner big enough to step though. Not sure if this is the common way, but it's the way I found.

Post Re: OAkridge Pond Fishing!
I'll be fishing here tonight about 6:30 to ??? I'll start at the big pond in the little channel area where most of us fish so hit me up if you go and we'll fish together.

Report for Sunday afternoon - 02/14

I took my kids out to fish here on sunday for an hour and got 2 bites but no fish. There were fish swimming up and down the bank about 6-7 feet out. Some small ones and some looked to be about in the 3-4 pound range. I saw them swimming in pairs and in small groups of 3. The bite is more of a stretch that a pull/tug/ or tick. Be very aware of your line and keep the line slack to a minimum. Some of my biggest fish have come at this time of year and they have always been the lightest of tugs/stretches so stay focused.

My kids made that very hard to do, losing both my fish due to a delay in trying to set the hook. LOL!

Anyway, a guy caught one right in front of us but lost it at the surface before landing it.

***NOTE!!! Ranger was crusing these ponds and asked to see our license ****

So if you don't have one, you should probably buy one! lol

Good luck, and tight lines!

It seems like ages since I last went out fishing. It looks like this might be a fun place to try. I'll have to pull out the light action rod and give it a go. Do most of the ponds there have decent bass populations?

Fishing Report for Sunday, February 21st.

Raining - in and out but for the most part a constantly light rain -

Spinning reel, 6'0 rod, 6 pound mono line

- Baits
- Roboworm - Aaron's magic - on drop shot
- Booyah 3/8 oz football head jig - Brown/purple skirt - green pumkin sweet beaver trailer

Went out to the ponds after dropping my kids off with mom. Got to the ponds about 11:00am and left about 1:30. It was raining on and off with the sun peeking out at about the time I was leaving. Anyway, got 3 bites total for the time I was there. Started fishing on a drop shot roboworm and hit 2. I hit a tiny one about 1lbs max then about 10 minutes later i feel this really soft pull. Knowing it was a fish the rod tip went up and fish on!!!! This guy fought hard!!!! He gave me a good 2 minute fight as he kept peeling out line and when he jumped i realized he was a decent size fish. Anyway i bring this guy in.....

After another 10 minutes I decide to walk the pond just to see if i could spot any areas that looked good to fish. That is one thing I don't really do, I always go off of feeling and stop to fish areas I feel will produce. I never take the time to really study the pond/lake i'm fishing. I do catch most of the time but praticing this this will make me a better angler.

Anyway, i took off the drop shot and I walked all the way around messing around throwing a crankbait. NOTHING!

I take off the crank bait and I switched it up to a purple & brown jig with a sweet beaver trailer, I really don't use jigs but something told me to so I did.

That "feeling" paid off because after 10 minutes fishing with this jig it produced this fish....

This guy peeled out line as well and he also tried to jump. I actually walked up the bank to the fish to avoid losing it and landing it quickly.

Anyway, It was really nice to get into these two fish considering the weather. I always seem to have good days when the rain is light and off and on with cloud cover.

Well that is my report....good luck out there..can't wait to go back!!!
