Post Night?
Anyone interested in some night fishing? I would go alone but just think it might be safer/more fun with a few people.

Open as far as where, when.

Not a pro angler by any means....just a newb but wanting to try something diff.

Thanks...based on what I have read, is Coyote the only lake that allows night fishing? Sorta confusing because Ive read different stories...granted there are those that do so anyways, but I'd prefer to know that I am not doing anything illegal when night fishing.

The rules state that it is allowed unless posted otherwise that night fishing is not allowed. Most places do have a '8am-sunset' sign and that gates close...but are you allowed to fish if you are not parking there?

For example, there is a spot over in Cupertino by deAnza college - pretty small lake, but you can walk right up to it. Not sure what the lake is called but its got ok action. Does anyone know if you can fish at night there, or other similar places where there is no gate to prohibit access?

you can fish coyote all night. its open 24 hrs. same with uvas, chesbro, and san luis reservoir (stripers). i've gone to coyote alone but to be honest it scares me a little. a lot of wildlife near coyote but with a friend or two you should feel safe. rangers usually drive by a lot on the road too.

Thanks, onlywall....do you know if it is, in fact, legal to fish there at night? (the place by deanza) ?

yeah, bassdude - I agree with you - wildlife is def something to watch out for, hence the post regarding those who go out at night - looking to tag along or just at least be in the same vicinity would help put mind at ease. how is uvas at night? or san luis for that matter? presuming im taking the trip alone (wife is just not that into it), any recommendation for bankin it at night?

night fishing at San Luis is great, especially when the weather cools. Will have to have a night outing one of this weekends.

Awesome. Thanks GrayElephant !

It would be cool to gather up a few san jose bass folk and get out there for some moonlit fishin....I'll be checking it out this evening, probably late after the little ones have gone to sleep.

Will also try for San Luis one of these nights. Thanks fellas.

well, its good to get some confirmation on that de anza spot. I was fishing there til 10-11 couple weeks back and wasn't sure if I was about to get booted at any moment. Nice little spot though, got skunked, but did see some huge carp in there though.

i might be headed out to that area to meet up some friends for a drink tonight so I might swing by and do a little fishing beforehand. Maybe I'll see you out there.

I went there around 11pm last night and stayed for about an hour and a half. PG&E was doing some major work or something across the street and it was quite loud, not to mention the lights they kept shining onto the lake. Didnt see anyone else, but then again, I didnt walk around either.

Got skunked, however. Just threw a few topwaters and a black buzzbait - got a good tug, but thats about it.

Any luck for you bangbang? Im usually by the dead tree in the water, or at least on that side.
