Re: Most memorable fish you've caught
So many epic memories fishing with Dad over my life span. Suppose it would be the trip to Montana where I caught a huge rainbow trout casting off a cliff...and the northern pike we caught trolling back in 1973. I remember hiding under the truck during the hail storm of golf balls, while dad and his friend Larry were loading the boat back onto the trailer. Have to pull out the pictures...I know where they are!
As of recent, I would have to say was April 24, 2009. It was our last half day of fishing before heading home. Rippin_lips and I were throwing frogs on the west bank of Cache Creek, when I looked over my right shoulder and spoted my next target on the east side. It was a lonely wood pier about 8x6 feet, two 4x4 posts with 1x4 cross bracing, painter red. This sat pon a gravel and dirt bank adorned with wild grass and small shrubbery to the left side. With the positioning of the morning sun, a shadow cast to the inside of the left corner pier post. This was clearly a long cast to the opposite side of the creek. I called out my target to Mike and took my best shot. As my hollow body frog sails away with spray off my reel, we witness my "perfect cast" landing just passed the post under the pier with a very small splash. One twich and "shup" Fight is on all the way to the boat. One Target, One cast, One fish! Thanks for the boat ride and memories Mike! Look I'm on the Tracker!
