Post Monterey Hwy & Metcalf
Just curious.......

There's some water there (Not Parkway Lakes), I think it's from Coyote Creek and it feeds into some kind of Ski Boat ramp thing. It's pretty much right at Metcalf and Monterey.

Is that fishable? Anyone try it? Theres'a a long, dual set of V channels for the boats to launch from and it looks like bass area to me.

Again, just curious.

I am not sure if there are any bass in there, but it does look good. I have always wanted to try it out, but the ski boat club is private there and they either own or lease that water and I heard most of them are a bunch of you know whats. Give it a try some time, just don't get caught I guess. Maybe a night trip from a toon would work.

YES! You have to use barb less hooks. My buddy and I got popped for fishing there with barbed hooks. I thought it was strange when the ranger asked me, "What kind of hooks are you guys using?"

what exactly are barless hooks and where do they sell them? I can only ever find hooks that have the one barb still at the very tip of the hook. or do you have to make them barbless yourself?

I'm not sure if you can buy them, but yeah you have to take pliers to your hook and flatten the barb. When I got caught I was throwing a spinner bait and the ranger wanted me to crimp the barb down, I said hell no! Even if I hooked a Salmon, I would let it go. Those idiots should be enforcing the same rule over at Campbell perc ponds, Salmon runs through that back creek. A kid caught a 12 pound salmon next to that bridge.

ok, yah, crimp down the barbs. I did that to fish up in Tahoe creeks. I wouldnt crimp my spinner either! I guess i might try it out one of these days but i'll just make one of my worm hooks barbless and play around with it.

thanks for the info. I'll ask a ranger some time too.
