 Lexington
Have not been to Lex in a while. Did an evening fish at various locals on the freeway side. I was fishing with a chowderhorn spinner. It was white wif gold flake and double silver willows. Caught 3 bass up to 2 1/2lbs. I was using a long rod and doing the kneel and reel. I had a few short strikes and tried a follow up bait with no luck. Good luck to all. Thanks to everyone for their reports.

 Re: Lexington
I enjoy slow rolling spinnerbaits from shore. Cast out as far as I can and let it sink to the bottom. Wind up slack, give a quick pop to shake the blades free and slow roll.

 Re: Lexington
Did this technique work for you yet? If not, try a larger, single nickel Colorado. We called those "Thumpers" back in the day!

 Re: Lexington
well,
just recently a buddy that i fish with landed a good 3#'r at calero off a spinner bait. He was shaking the rod side to side sporadically and reeling at the same time... no luck since then on spinner baits, or soft plastics for that matter.
I will be replenishing my spinner bait lures as im only down to my last lure.. (lost about 4 or so this season so far)
can you explain how to work a single blade colorado to shore ?
TIA

 Re: Lexington
Same way just able to retrieve slower and feel the blade thumping, just off the bottom. Idea is to slow roll it near the bottom, without getting it snagged...use a heavier spinnerbait.

 Re: Lexington
Thats a nice fish there, macr88! What ive found to work well lexington this time of year is to fish the biggest profile bait that you can, and just drag it along the bottom as slow as your patience will let you. Ive caught plenty of 2-2.5 lb fish there and im still convinced that i need a bigger bait..... My pb came from lex at an easy 4 pounds, just hopping a #5 blue fox inline spinner up and down on the retrieve.... big spinner/profile, down in the water column.... of course, you have to know where to fish it....
