 Lake Amador
Heading up to Lake Amador for some family camping/fishing. I've been there once before but I had no idea about the fishing there (previously never fished bass before).
Anyone have experience with the fish here?
What should I be gearing for mid September. I was hoping things would cool off so I had a chance at some straggling trout looks like things are going to stay warm.

 Re: Lake Amador
derycksan , I have fished Amador since the late 70's . Great lake for Bass and trout . If your after the bass , I spend most of my time with Senko's wacky rigged as close to weeds and as deep as possible this time of year. Another method is to Dshot and/or Crig Robo's along the points(deep). The fish in this lake tend to group up, if you find one , you usually find more. Can be a hit or miss lake , alot depends on what they are doing with water levels .If they are letting out lots of water (which they tend to do this time of year) it really slows things down alot . If the fishing gets slow , go deeper. I have also had success with Brush hogs and white spinnerbaits. I really like this lake ..... fish have alot to feed on and are typically really healthy. Good luck , 1Oldman
