The bite was HOT !
Pretty much fished all around the bay area...
Caught lots of leopard sharks and one brown shark-- boy he put up a fight, much stronger than a leopard.
Fished til 3:30 am last night with my buddies and we saw jack smelt boiling so my buddy got the bobber rig out and landed some smelt. The bite died for a bit, so we threw plugs and hair raisers for giggles while soaking bait on our second poles.. Then i see my bait pole get hit hard but the fish got away.. So i took the circle hook off and put a bait hook on and casted again, this time holding the pole.. Sat there for two minutes, kind of dazed off, tired.. Then BAM.. Set the hook, knew it didn't feel like a shark or a ray, and was pleased that it was a nice striper. One of my friends caught a striper the night before in the same spot, and since the striper bite in SF bay is "occasional" at best this time of year, i was quite pleased.
So this morning i head out and see a massive, gargantuan sized bait mass in the bay. I texted eurojett about it and he mentioned they might be herring.. Anyways, saw some jack smelt boiling in various spots, so i threw bait right on top of them... There were so many fish that the jack smelt were hitting on my fish finder rig (they normally hit on the upper column of water). After landing about ten of them, i stopped

. It was literally, cast and instant bite. There were so many herring in the water that it looked scary-- and for the first time at this particular spot, seals showed up in the water, no doubt munching on this massive army.
Went back tonight and i could see massive amounts of bait even at night.. Threw plugs since all the small herring would eat any bait thrown so it would be pointless. No sign of stripers tonight but fun nonetheless. What a great weekend!
