Pulled out of the berth at 8am and returned just before 1pm today. Working an average of 4 ft swells from the south and north west. We beat the increasing incomming swell and fished 12 pots for 70 dungeness crab. Only 2 under 2#s. Dad was all smiles today, on his first crabbing voyage. All pots were moved today and half were stacked on deck to move to other grounds later this month. After cleaning and steaming our catch of the day, we were slightly disappointed the seas were flat as we packed and headed for home at 230pm. Just goes to show you, the surf and swell report is not always the most accurate. Maybe the calm before the storm...we did see the small craft advisory signs posted. Well time to eat and fill my belly!
BTW Dad got pinched today and I did as well bleeding all over the deck.
