 Coyote 12-30-08
Started at calveras point with a spinner and fished south to the big rocky deep point. Switched to a Jig. On my first cast, got stuck and broke my line--i thought there were only rocks there but i guess not. Second jig, second cast, diff direction from the point, I got tied up in someone elses line and I think there was a hud mixed in with it, but it snapped my line again.
Switched to a baby brush hog and worked back to calaveras.
Zero bites all morning.
Went over to the docks, back to my spinner, got my one and only bite. 2lb 1oz according to my new electronic scale. I was worried i wouldnt get to try it.
Anway, water got sorta rough after about 10:30 and never really got better. Saw 4 boats out there but all on the far side. Alot less muddy now since the water has crept up a bit.
The fish must be deep now, if I go again I'll just bring crawlers and try to huck it out really deep.

Yote and Calero are a pain right now! Still ya had a chance. There's at least that, for another week or so, anyway.

 Re: Coyote 12-30-08
Finished the year with a big skunk at Coyote. There were 4 other boats out and no one on the banks, 47-49 degree water but a real nice morning just no bite. Winter bass is tough stuff same results a Calero the past few weeks. I might have to try some San Lorenzo steelhead if we get more rain or head up to the delta for a shot a striper. Marce, how'd your delta trip go last weekend?

 Re: Coyote 12-30-08
Looks like I won the braclet at the main event then, one fish in the last two days of 09 at Yote. (sorry..I've been watching WSOP reruns).
Well, I have to say, this is a very addicting passtime and I cant wait to get to my first spring and summer season. Having started in October, I've had fun and learned plenty from this forum, but I look forward to better weather and full lakes! Gonna have to hook up with some of your folks too.
