in the early summer i was cathcing nothing but decent size fish out of calero but now every time i go there ive been catchin nothin but dinks. what happened to all the big fish? caught this hog on a top water last week off the big dam.

i know, seriously. im thinkin about hittin up the lake again tomorrow, so if your not busy you should try to get out there and catch some fish. you are well overdue.

haha, that made me laugh. This time of year the fish tend to move in to open water and suspend, chasing baitfish to the surface. The smaller guys are the ones that tend to hang around the banks. When i lived in San Diego this is the time of year we would hit the topwater in the early morning, then move to open water and troll leadcore at about 20 feet deep with rapalas and pick up a lot of good fish. Not sure if the same techniques would work here or not but i would think it would. Too bad i am limited to shore fishing up here with no boat ;|

yea, that would probably work because you can see the bass balling up the shad to the surface out in deeper water.
