berkeley peir has been producen the last couple weeks. 3 way rig with a 1/0 hook. purchase shiners at mikes bait and tackle. No need to cast far, just flick it in front of you. if anything go check the docks and see if they are still selling live anchovies...

Oyster point peir is full of sharks and reys. But, there is an occasional striper and halibut bite. Bring sabiki rigs and catch any live bait and cast as far as you can.

GOOD LUCK!

Im going berkeley next week...

How much line between rig and weight / hook?

I've been hearing nothing but great things from Berkeley too. How far out on the pier would you recommend?

Thanks for the help bro.

From 3 way swivel to sinker= 12inches of line
From 3 way swivel to hook= Arm length 26"-34" of 17-25lb. fluro line.
Gamakatsu or Owner 1/0 shiner or khali hooks
No more than an oz. of lead for the sinker.

90% of my fish are all caught within 5-30ft casting distance. Location? I say if the water is low when you get there...start anywhere at the end of the peir. Once the water starts moving up, work your way towards the middle. But honestly, Ive caught fish all over the peir..soo i think location doesnt really matter...remember, live bait is KEY..no live bait, you catch sharks, reys, crabs all day...witch is not that bad if you think about it....but other than that, this shall get you started...if you see anyone else on the peir that looks like they know what they are doing, just say wsup to them and pick brain to gain knowledge...they are soo many techniques on this peir and you just gotta find your own style. Once you do, you will be successful on this peir. GOOD LUCK!
