 Berkeley Pier?
anyone been to Berkeley Pier lately? just have some time to burn tomorrow while i'm in the area and its my first time out there. not looking for any crazy action, just want to know what might be biting out there lately, and just wanted to be a little more prepared on the gear/bait/tackle. thanks.

halibut and strippers bite all year long there, but during this time of year, it is almost close to non existant. You can get a straggler and hope for some luck if you put the time. BUT If you want something at the end of line, bring some chovies or anything thats saltwater bait related...heavy tackle and prepare for sharks and mud marlins... or 3way rig with sum pile works will get you perch at the begining of the peir. i fish there starting from end of march til july for hali and strippers...

cool vid. makes the heart start to pound and the itch to get out there!
now, i do have to say that berkeley strippers are totally better than oakland's. cleaner and hotter...
haha. couldnt resist.

edit: i noticed that the fish caught were being strung back into the water...cant seals or pesky crabs take your fish?
i remember putting my son's catch in the water and when i went to pull it back up, we ony had a head left!!!!! haha
