So I wanted to go fishing today and coudlnt make up my mind if I want to go fishing for fish at the jetty or tackle the surf and go for striper. So I decided to go to the jetty in the morning and take advantage of fishing the low tide since the walk there is nice without having to go the whole way on rocks.

30 min in I get a 20inch lincod to take my anchovie pattern big hammer swimbait. She was too short to keep so back in the water she went.



tossed a for 1hr and didnt get any more bites so i decided to go have me some lunch and go check out pacifica.

I get to pacifica and there is a few of the locals i always see there and they said the bite has been good the past couple of days. I decide that i am going to fish the outgoing tide (530pm) So i just relax a little and keep a eye out if i see any hookups. I chitter chatter with some people, and finally its about 530 and 1 guy hooks up. I am like its time to get geared up.

The beach had like 5 people on it and by the time i got ready that was 10.....then it was 15 and the bite was hot!! Striper were chasing smelt to the edge of the surf and Stripers were jumping out of the water. I cast and cast and cast and no bites but some people were catching around me, even a guy i see all the time, he brought his GF and she hooked up and landed! hmmmmmmm.......so i changed my lure to my old faithful...the Kastmaster. 3 cast in, BAMMMMMMMMMM!!! landed me a 27in Striper.



now its 730 and I leave to Las Vegas tomorrow morning so I gotta get going....



Get home and my kid is like another striper!!

damn i am tired....cleaned the fish, cleaned my gear, and cleaned my lures....plus i got my new reel in the mail today. whewwwwwww today was a good day.

I caught mine on a silver 1 1/2 oz kastmaster, but a lot of people catching on chartreuse hairrazors with chartreuse worms and also they are throwing chartreuse and orange minnows. good luck out there fish the outgoing tide, dont need to cast far as the fish are busting up at the edge chasing the smelt.

You should really try to blur that picture or take it down. Theres going to be a hundred people squeezing into that one small spot now. Theres a reason you don't see a lot of surf reports on internet forums. Nice fish though

Where do you think they get their reports from.... Im not hating i'm just saying theres a ton of lurkers here. With a spot like the one you were at its small and theres ony two spots on thay beach that produce. You dont want a ton of ppl knowing where youre a exactly. I love Pacifica though. The biggest fish ive ever seen landed in the surf came from linda Mar in 09. It was over 4 ft long and fat. Im gonna guess between 45-50 lbs

while I agree with you but it still takes some skill and little bit of luck to get the fish. You should have seen it..it was shoulder to shoulder for a while but everyone was cool and if ya hooked up they would give ya some room. After a while some of the guys got tired of casting, and gave up even though some people were still catching.

Btw why dont you call those #s that posted the report...i know it wont lead them to sanjosebass.com its the local shops that fisherman go running into to brag what they did....LOL
